It’s oficially Gemini season everybody! Happy sun, venus, jupiter and mercury in Gemini! A small planetary stellium to celebrate the spiritual power of the children of gemini. We’re in the middle of an crazy life-changing eclipse filled season too, and the last one (this 24/5) will happen right across the zodiac, in sagittarius: our love house. A post about it is coming! And don’t forget Jupiter’s effects will manifest a lot better once it leaves our sign in june (if it hasn’t manifested in your life already), so don’t miss any chance you have of going global or to go further and bigger in whatever you’re doing. Saturn is still kicking our work and health house so be gentle and wise with your body and working habits. Gemini First Decan (May 21 to 31)
The son of Jupiter:
Gemini Decan 1 is ruled by Jupiter. The sun crusades through the constellations of Taurus the Bull, Perseus the Hero and the River from May 21 to 31. This section of the sky houses the famous star clusters the Hyades and the Pleiades, plus of course the royal star Aldebaran in the Bull’s eye.These clusters have stormy reputations, Alcyone is scandalous in love and the Hyades bring tears and violence. Perseus is not the most sedate fellow either, brandishing his sword and grasping poor Medusa’s decapitated head.
With Jupiter’s influence here then we get activists and militants who are on a spiritual or religious mission. They see themselves as spiritual warriors and reformers, on this earth to stamp out evil. This area is also very artistic, so those in the entertainment business here will always have a socio-political message behind what they do. They will also want to gain status, and be admired for their intellect. These people are great conversationalists, come out with great one liners and have the ability to abruptly and skilfully steer the discussion off any subject matter that is not their forte. The last thing these brainiacs wants to appear as is stupid!
Gemini decan 1 is the thinking mans warrior, they will rescue damsels in distress, the underdog and the hard done by, all because they want to be the good Samaritan. They are not fighting for the thrill of spilling blood, good gracious no! The twins are chivalrous knights, but nevertheless can’t help getting embroiled in dramas, mainly because they cant keep their mouth shut. Gemini decan 1 thrives on scandal and they are terrible gossips. The medieval “scold” mask was just made for these jesters. These folk are naturally very funny, the mix of Jupiter’s joviality and Mercury wit cannot fail to tickle even the most dour person.
The negative side of Gemini decan 1 is a certain shiftiness however, they could be trickster supreme with Aldebaran’s great gallant charm and Alcyone’s supposedly “Evil disposition”. Gemini decan 1 can get away with murder just because they make you laugh so much that your sides split, followed by your purse, followed by your shiny pennys falling straight into their grubby little hands. Gemini decan 1 are passionate about what they believe in, but because they also have been appointed by God to be his soldier they can also be incredibly arrogant. Having an archangel star here is all very well, but its volatile energy can taketh as well as giveth if the subject gets too big for his boots.

Alcyone is the main star of the Pleiades; this mysterious star cluster has beguiled us for thousands of years. Their role is supposed to help humanity evolve by purifiying our astral and etheric bodies in order to receive higher wisdom. Dissolving away our dirty devils, rather like Perseus’s mission to slay the demon Medusa. Our hero risked life and limb to rescue his love Andromeda, so very chivalrous and noble. Or was he really after her father King Cepheus kingdom..? Somehow it all seems to good to be true, which is why Gemini decan 1 can get the reputation of being a cad. Alcyone has a bit of a sleazy reputation too. Some keywords are “vain, venerated, indulgent, spoilt, easily flattered, flirty, beautiful, poetic, talented, theatrical, ravishing, handsome, designer, dandy”.
These stars, like the Gemini archetype as a whole are a mass of contradictions; they can be the good twin or the evil twin. One twin is constantly at war with its shadow and they are constantly on the verge of becoming the very “darkness” they are trying to eliminate. The challenge for Gemini decan 1 is to try not to create more divisiveness in their zeal to spiritually spring-clean. New-age light workers and Christian fundamentalists alike make me think of Aldebaran, since he is so darned worthy. The Alcyone bunch are the activists, bohemians, eco-warriors and the liberals who are so incredibly “right-on” and politically correct. Gemini decan 1 is all about duality and polarity, directly opposite Aldebaran we get Antares, his nemesis, but that’s another story…
Geek Chic Warriors:
Mirfak is on the right side of Perseus. This constellation “is said to denote adventurous individuals, but also those who are less than honest in their dealings with others.” Robson also says Perseus has an “intelligent, strong, bold and adventurous nature, but a tendency to lying.” I get the picture of your cheeky cockney chappie who “ducks and dives” to make a living, a modern day folk hero. Mirfak likes to brag and is full of bravado, like Muhammad Ali in his pre-fight spiel. Sceptrum is now part of Eridanus but was once part of an obsolete constellation known as Sceptrum Brandenburgicum.
The sceptre is a ceremonial staff used to display power and authority. There is a real feel of display to this decan. Is it all an act though? Jupiter can be very theatrical and spectacular while Gemini is about surface, and can wear many masks. It makes me think of the wizard in the Wizard of Oz, that geeky old man operating the booming wizard voice and theatrics from behind the curtain. He didn’t think he was impressive enough on his own. Gemini decan 1 promises much and seems suspect, but like the Clintwood inspired animated spaghetti western film Rango, the apparent charlatan did in fact come good in the end.

AnonymousA lot of people don't perceive Gemini's to be emotional, like usually Gemini's and emotion aren't associated together. But I'm the total opposite of this and I'm very emotional and I show my true feelings to a lot of people. Is maybe my Scorpio rising causing me to be an emotional Gemini? Or is the whole Gemini's aren't emotional but logical a misconception?
I have a Pisces sister that has judged me the same way my whole life, so i know how it feels. The answer is both: the scorpio rising and the misconception. One half of Gemini is the detached, logical twin, the winged messenger that doesnt have time to feel, and it’s alergic to compromise, the trickster. The other twin inside Gemini’s soul is the emotional one, the sensitive one (i have a post about air signs in general, please check it out),the one that is almost as sensitive as a Pisces (which is why we get along so well as friends, i think), because children (and specially The Children of Gemini) are like that: We like to play all day and we can be mean, but if they hurt us or we fall, we cry, and we don’t forget. We’re both twins at the same time, all the time, but we chose to put the logical twin first, leading the way, so we can have more fun. He’s the funny one. Feelings aren’t fun, so we chose to hide his brother sometimes. When you’re locked in a bathroom crying so noone can see you, or you’re swallowing all your problems thinking that noone can help you, that’s like the logical twin bullying the other one. If we keep doing that, well, people are just going to get to know one twin right? Is the special people in our life that get to know them both. If you have water in your chart, the sensitive twin fights back! He uses water to communicate, because EMOTIONS ARE THE ONLY WAY TO COMMUNICATE FEELINGS, WORDS CAN’T DO IT. Water is so useful sometimes. A big hurtful event will in the end hurt less a water gemini, than a pure gemini, because the pure gemini is not used to share emotions. It’s traumatic. The conflict will always be there (Gemini is an air sign, born to fly not to swim), but most people don’t see it of course. They only see one twin. Only people that take the time to understand what’s going on inside our heads, that understand that we’re not just one set of emotions but two, and that we switch them like crazy, will stop judging us. They (and we) have to understand that we go from one twin to the other one in a heartbeat, and that we’re very capable of true love, sacrifice, and forgiveness, and of course, suffering. Gemini is a player, not a plotter, and if we make a mistake, we deserve love and forgiveness as much as anyone, after we apologize of course. It’s an evolution that starts with our actions (words can only convince them/us for a while): that’s how we can show the world, how big our hearts are.

You are not the most sentimental of lovers, although you do have a wonderful way with words. You value exchanging and sharing ideas in a partnership, and a good conversation makes powerful foreplay for you! Water, Water Everywhere!
A lunation in the sign of the (cosmic) Waterbearer, comes with a stellium in oceanic Pisces. There’s harmonious flow to the healing force of Saturn in Scorpio (more water). AND it’s the first day of the Year of the Water Snake. The emotional-psychic waves churn deep, and bring much that’s drifted to the bottom (denied, repressed) to the surface. Keep the purging effect in mind, if you’re experiencing unusual highs and lows.
On an individual level, and then in the various circles ever wider outward, there’s a reckoning, and a chance for authentic healing.
